With spring comes the season of golf and the SCV Chamber’s highly anticipated 28th annual Oak Tree Classic. This year the event will be held on Monday, April 23 at TPC Valencia, and we are honored to have Chiquita Canyon as our Title Sponsor once again.

This annual tournament is a SCV tradition that boasts participation of more than 100 golfers and is a great place to connect and do business with top level business people here in the SCV. Sponsorships and foursomes are available. Please contact the chamber at (661) 702-6977 or email info@scvchamber.com.

There are many great gifts to living in the Santa Clarita Valley and one that is at the top of my chart is our collection of great restaurants. From Italian to Asian, from sushi to steaks, we are plentiful in options and not only do we have a fantastic array of options, most are most deserving of praise. This is all the more reason why making a final selection is difficult.

Picture this… Your taxi driver has just delivered you to mid-priced hotel (like the Courtyard, Holiday Express, Garden Inn). The parking lot is clean and as you enter the doors, they too are clean and uncluttered. Just as you step in, you receive a greeting by a nicely dressed front desk clerk with a tone of voice that says I’m eager, able and happy to help.

As entrepreneurs, once we acknowledge the wisdom to creating greater results, we own the responsibility for progress. Perhaps this is the reason so few actually search.

This statement was made as part of a conversation surrounding the many small nonprofits in our community, how they struggle to make ends meet, and how difficult fundraising is.
