Egg Plantation wins environmental award

The Egg Plantation in Old Town Newhall has been recognized for outstanding environmental business practices by the California Department of Resources, Recycling and Recovery.

The Santa Clarita restaurant was one of the winners of the Waste Reduction Awards Program for its dedication to environmental sustainability.

Winners receive WRAP certificates and window decals alerting customers to the business’ environmentally friendly practices.

"Green" has, in many ways, become the buzz word of the times.

"Green" has, in many ways, become the buzz word of the times. At one time, the word was most commonly associated with a rich emerald color, money or a command: Go! As is so common in our vernacular, the word "green" has taken on a new identity; it now evokes a passion for our planet.

Most of us contribute in varying levels to becoming eco-friendly, either by recycling at home or purchasing recycled products; and for most of us, it gives us some sense of satisfaction that we are doing our part to help the environment.
