Six Flags to Repurchase Common Stocks

Six Flags Entertainment Corp. announced that its board of directors has approved a stock-repurchase plan that permits the company to repurchase up to $60 million of common stock over a three-year time period.

Six Flags is the world's largest regional theme park company, according to the Themed Entertainment Association. Six Flags has 19 parks across North America, and reported nearly $1 billion revenue in 2010.

The company's flagship property, Six Flags Over Texas, is celebrating its 50th anniversary season in 2011.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2009, exiting from bankruptcy 11 months later in May 2010.
