Over the past year and half, state enterprise zones were expanded in Santa Clarita, the San Fernando Valley, East Los Angeles and the area surrounding LAX, resulting in the creation and retention of 4,000 jobs in the city of Los Angeles.
These numbers are not surprising to Santa Clarita residents. The community’s enterprise zone has created 834 new jobs and 4,277 people have been hired through the tax credit, according to the city of Santa Clarita’s enterprise zone website. Additionally, the 305 businesses are benefiting from enterprise zone tax incentives, which have saved these local companies $160 million.
