The Board of Directors of the Santa Clarita Valley Family YMCA announced Chris Clark as its next Executive Director. This role is responsible for all YMCA activities in the Santa Clarita Valley including their youth, healthy lifestyles, camp and other family programming.
“I am very excited to serve the families of our community,” said Clark. “The YMCA offers many great opportunities and I look forward to working with the many volunteers of the YMCA to strengthen our programs in the community.”
Clark has held the position of Director of Development and Communications for the YMCA since 2007. In this capacity, he was successful in increasing the exposure of the YMCA in the Santa Clarita Valley and increasing community activities significantly. His volunteer work is equally impressive including Chairing the recent Chamber of Commerce Health & Wellness Fair in February, Co- Chair of LeadershipSCV and the Santa Clarita Valley Non- Profit Leadership Council. He was also recently honored as one of the Top 40 Under 40 People in the SCV.
Prior to coming to the YMCA, Clark began his non-profit career in 2003 with his role as the Area Director of Special Olympics Santa Clarita, where he doubled the number of athletes with disabilities participating in the area. He then went on to be the Regional Director of Special Olympics for Los Angeles County bringing programs and leadership to over 4,000 athletes.
Chris and his wife, Christina, have lived in Valencia for ten years and have a four year old son, Andy, along with a new baby daughter expected any day.
