VIA Awards to be Presented at 30th Anniversary Gala

Business leaders will be in attendance as the Valley Industry Association honors businesses, organizations and individuals as recipients of prestigious VIA awards to be presented at the organization’s 30th Anniversary Gala the evening of Friday, Oct. 14, at Hyatt Regency Valencia.

VIA plans to honor the businesses and individuals selected to receive the 2011 Business of the Year, Rising Star of the Year and Volunteer of the Year awards. In special recognition of VIA’s milestone anniversary, VIA Awards for the Decade will be given and include Business of the Decade, Rising Star of the Decade and Volunteer of the Decade. Award recipients will be announced the night of the event.

In addition, a key part of the celebration will honor past chairmen and chairwomen of VIA’s Board of Directors over the past 30 years.

“If you’ve been part of VIA’s history or plan to be part of its future, this event is for you,” said Kathy Norris, VIA CEO/president, when describing the festivities planned for the event.

Touted as an “Old World Masquerade, Black and White Ball,” the gala committee is pulling out all stops to make this a memorable event.

“The committee is dedicated to creating a formal event that recognizes the past while paying tribute to VIA’s achievements,” said Camille Demasio, account executive with Nuvicom, and chairwoman of the event.

Inspired by 14th century Venice, the gala hopes to capture the fun and frolic of the time, while adding an air of mystery to the business-centered event. Formal attire or period costumes keeping in theme with black and white are encouraged, as well as masques to accessorize the evening wear. Everything from simple eye coverings to elaborate ornamentation can be expected.

The committee meets the first Wednesday of every month at 8 a.m. in the VIA office located at 25709 Rye Canyon Road in the Valencia Industrial Center. All are welcome to attend.

To reserve a table, become a sponsor or advertise in the 30th Anniversary tribute book, contact Kathy Norris at (661) 294-8088 or email kathy@via.org. Individual seating may be available on a limited basis.
